Mark Vague

Mark Vague is a recruiting industry veteran specializing in defense electronics, missile systems, and advanced aerospace and defense engineering leadership.
Mark founded and led FPC Portland for more than 15 years, consistently ranking the office among the top ten FPC offices nationally in production. His practice focuses on engineering, manufacturing, and technical business leadership, with deep experience supporting defense electronics, guided weapons, and mission-critical hardware programs.

Before launching FPC Portland, Mark began his career industry at what is now Veritiv, gaining first-hand experience in high-reliability manufacturing environments. That foundation informs a recruiting approach built on technical credibility, execution discipline, and long-term partnership.
At Elray, Mark supports management and senior technical searches across missile systems, defense electronics, thermal management, and sensor-based technologies. His recent placements include General Managers, Product Management Directors, and Business Development leaders supporting guided missile, satellite, ISR, and defense electronics programs.

A West Seattle native, Mark holds a BA from the University of Washington and an MBA from City University. Outside of recruiting, he enjoys Beating Bobby Flay and home-cooking pizza, bringing the same craft and patience to building elite defense leadership teams. He partners closely with Elray’s leadership team on mission-critical searches nationwide.
